Virginia Union University's Ashlee Franklin has been named the CIAA Setter of the Week for the second consecutive week, the CIAA announced on Tuesday, September 20.

In three games this week, Franklin totaled 68 assists, 26 digs, four total blocks, three aces, and two kills. Franklin's best game this week came against conference foe Elizabeth City State, where she recorded 30 assists, 11 digs, four total blocks, three aces, and two kills. Her eight points against the Vikings were a season-high. The Woodbridge, VA native also logged 19 assists against both Frostburg State and conference opponent Shaw. The freshman also had at least seven digs in each of those games.

"She is a hard worker in practice and processing a lot of information!" said VUU Head Volleyball Coach Joe Sullivan.  "It is exciting to see her starting to work towards our systems and be recognized for her achievements!"
