Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Virginia Union University's Kristin Madison recorded a total of 31 kills in two matches, but Salem International University defeated the Lady Panthers 25-16, 25-15, 22-25, 25-27, 15-11 and then West Virginia University Institute of Technology defeated VUU 25-19, 20-25, 25-16, 15-25, 17-15 in the Salem International Tri-Match on Saturday, October 4, in Salem, W.V.

Madison had 10 kills while teammate Esha Atkins had 25 assists and 13 defensive digs.

VUU's Ellie Parsons had 14 digs and Chelan Wongus had 13 digs.

In the second match, Madison had 21 kills and Chelsea Beaudoin had 15 kills.  Zoe Pascal had 12 kills.

Atkins had 46 assists while Parsons and Beaudoin had 16 digs apiece.  Atkins had 12 digs and Taylor Witherspoon had 10 digs.

The losses drop VUU to 7-9 on the season.

VUU now returns home to Barco-Stevens Hall to face Bowie State University for the annual Dig Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Match, to be played on Monday, October 6, in Richmond, Va.
