Virginia Union University has been recognized as the top men's athletic program in the Commonwealth after capturing the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) College Division Men's All-Sports Championship for the 2025-26 academic year.

The Panthers finished with the highest winning percentage among all College Division institutions in Virginia, posting a remarkable 79.1 percent winning percentage (34-9) across men's sports during the 2025-26 campaign.

Christopher Newport University finished second with a 71.96 percent winning percentage (104-39-5), followed by The Apprentice School at 70.47 percent (74-31) and the University of Mary Washington at 70.0 percent (100-42-3).

Virginia Union's outstanding year was highlighted by another exceptional campaign from its men's athletic programs. The Panthers' football team continued its dominance by advancing to the NCAA Division II Playoffs after posting a 9-3 record.  The men's indoor and outdoor track and field teams also enjoyed historic success, capturing the first CIAA Indoor Title in school history and the first CIAA Outdoor Championship in 92 years.  VUU's men's basketball team advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament and earned the program's first NCAA Tournament victory since 2023 while finishing with a 25-6 overall record, helping Virginia Union secure the CIAA's prestigious C.H. Williams All-Sports Trophy for the second time in three years.

VaSID annually recognizes the Commonwealth's top collegiate athletic achievements by selecting all-state teams, an Academic All-State squad, and all-sports champions in both the University and College Divisions.

Virginia Union's latest honor adds to an already memorable 2025-26 academic year that included conference championships, national postseason appearances, and numerous individual and team accolades across Panther Athletics.
