RICHMOND, Va. – The Virginia Union University tennis team dropped a pair of matches to Bluefield State University on Saturday, April 11, at Battery Park.
Prior to the match, Virginia Union honored senior
Briana Velinor as part of the program's Tennis Senior Day activities as the Panthers closed out the 2026 home schedule.
Despite the final results, Head Coach Gabriel Kotto praised the effort and competitiveness displayed throughout the contest.
"The team showed their resilience and skill set despite 6-0, 6-0 losses," said Kotto. "The sets were intense and long. The game development is being confirmed as players become experienced."
Virginia Union will return to action on the road when the Panthers travel to Elizabeth City to face Elizabeth City State University on Tuesday, April 14.
