Virginia Union University has named Gabriel Kotto as head tennis coach of the Lady Panthers.

Kotto is a Pro-Circuit tour Coach with junior players from age U14 to U18.  He has held the position of Head Coach for high school varsity teams at Reston High School in Fairfax, Va., and at the International School of Kenya in Nairobi.  The International School became the Interscholastic School Championship Champions in 2007 while Reston became the Liberty Division District School Champions in 2010.

Kotto is also a Certified Bolletieri's Method of teaching.

He was awarded NON-CUT- COACH certification by USTA for the Developmental Tennis Program at Reston High School and in Kenya. Kotto was awarded the best Developmental Tennis Program held in 2007. He assisted renowned tennis coach Nick Bollitieri during his training at the IMG Academy in his morning sessions and afternoon training sessions with tennis match simulations for upcoming junior players at the time: Sloan Stephen, Sasha Vickery and Victoria Duval.

Kotto earned a diploma in Physical Education and Sport Science, with emphasis in diet and high-performance tennis training, with the Kenyan board of education while living overseas. He also earned a PTR Pro certification, and a degree in Master of Tennis Performance Coach (Adult development).

Kotto held privately many adult developmental tennis clinics in Reston VA, and coached and developed: Advanced, Intermediate and Beginner players with long-term and short-term goals of: College Scholarships, future tournaments and of course USTA Pro- Circuit tournaments or improving of rankings.
