Virginia Union University's women's tennis team opened the 2025 home season when the Lady Panthers met Virginia State Univrsity on Saturday, March 29 at Battery Park in Richmond, Va.
Unfortunately, Virginia State defeated the Lady Panthers 6-0 before capturing a forfeit win due to a VUU injury in the second match.
"I know that my girls are fighters, and they scored points on their matches against VSU compared to our match at the beginning of the season against them, so we are improving as a team which is always a win in my books," said VUU Head Tennis Coach Gerri "Gigi" Carter-Thurston. "Go Lady Panthers!"
VUU will now meet Elizabeth City State University at 1:00 p.m. On Saturday, April 5, at Battery Park in Richmond, Va.
