The Virginia Union University tennis team opened the 2025 season on the road as the Lady Panthers took on Virginia State University on Saturday, March 1, in Petersburg, Va.

Unfortunately, VUU was shut out 7-0 in the match.

"I have to say our girls were really good and for a young team we will keep plugging now knowing where we have to fix errors." said VUU Head Tennis Coach Gerri "Gigi" Carter-Thurston.  "We will give them a run next match date."

Virginia Union will now travel to Elizabeth City, N.C., to face Elizabeth City State University on Tuesday, March 11.
