Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Virginia Union University's Shyra Jones homered in the 2024 CIAA Softball Championship Tournament, but Winston-Salem State University defeated the Lady Panthers 8-2 while Lincoln University of Pennsylvania ended VUU's tournament run by defeating the Panthers 10-3.

Jones' feat came in the top of the third inning against the Lions of Lincoln.

In the first game against WSSU, Jayanna Richards struck out two in four innings of relief of starter Brandy Richards.

Richards also struck out two while Akhi Jenkins had three hits against Lincoln.

"We did not have the outcome we wanted in the tournament," said VUU Head Softball Coach Dominique Mulero.  "We came out flat in both games and both teams took advantage of that! I hate that this was it for us, but I'm proud of this team! I want to thank everyone who has supported us this season and it has meant a lot to us! Looking forward to next year, with everyone but one returning we look to keep building this program!"
