The season opener at Winston-Salem College's Kickoff Meet was also a good eye-opener for our Ladies' team, highlighting some outstanding performances to kick off the season.
Key Performances:
  •   Abijah Jepkemboi started the season on a high note after not competing indoors last year. She broke the VUU 3,000 meters school record with a time of 11:27.06, surpassing the previous record held by
Sarah Adams.
  •   Teanae Minor, a graduate student athlete, opened her season strong with a time of 7.83 seconds in the 60 meter dash. After being sidelined by injury last season, we're excited to see her return to form and anticipate a great year for her.
  •  Â
Christal Rolack also had a promising start, clocking 8.08 seconds in the 60 meter dash, setting a strong foundation for the season.
  •  Â
Toni Middlebrooks achieved a personal best in the 60 meter dash with a time of 8.30 seconds, showing significant improvement.
Looking Ahead:
"Once we place all of our athletes in their optimal events, we're confident this season will surpass the previous one," said VUU Head Women's Track & Field Coach Franck Charles. "This year's team is exceptionally talented, and we are excited to see what the indoor season has in store for us."
