"The first day of the meet was a strong showing for both the men's and women's teams — a good way to kick off the season," said VUU Head Track & Field Coach Franck Charles.
Freshman thrower
Kornti Searles highlighted the opening day by breaking the
indoor school record in the weight throw, setting an early benchmark for the Panthers this season. Fellow freshman
Ellis Oshawnna also impressed in the event, delivering a performance that now places her just behind Searles in the program record books.
In the
long jump, VUU saw more standout efforts as
Angell Garrison and
Taylor Porter both opened their seasons with
new personal bests, providing additional momentum for the Panthers' early-season success.
