Virginia Union University's women's basketball team will enter the 2023 CIAA Tournament as the #9 seed and will face #8 Johnson C. Smith University in the first round of the 2023 CIAA Tournament in Baltimore, Md.
The Lady Panthers and the Golden Bulls will tip off on the first day of the tournament at 12:10 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, at CFG Bank Arena.
VUU defeated Johnson C. Smith 68-56 on Wednesday, February 1, in Charlotte, N.C. Â

Ny Langley recorded a double-double in that game by scoring 22 points and pulling down 13 rebounds.
"We know that JCSU will be a fierce competitor in this first-round game," said VUU Head Women's Basketball Coach
Tierra Terry. "We have to focus on playing 40 minutes of intense defense, winning each quarter, and closing the game. We need to bring passion and pure will power to leave this game victorious."
If victorious, the Lady Panthers will then face #1 seed Fayetteville State University at 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday, February 22.
