PETERSBURG, Va. (Feb. 21, 2026) — The Virginia Union University Lady Panthers closed out the regular season in commanding fashion with a 74–55 victory over Virginia State University on Saturday afternoon.
The gave VUU a regular season record of 16-8 and a CIAA conference record of 10-6.
Virginia Union established control early and maintained momentum throughout the contest, executing efficiently on both ends of the floor. The Lady Panthers' defensive pressure created scoring opportunities, while their balanced offensive attack kept the Trojans on their heels.

Head Coach Alico Dunk praised his team's collective effort following the win.
"This was a great win," said VUU Head Women's Basketball Coach Alico Dunk. "It was an all-around effort from everybody. We executed on both ends of the floor. It's like I told the team at the end of the game: 'When you play this way, the sky's the limit for you.'"
With the regular season complete, the Lady Panthers will travel to Baltimore to compete in the 2026 CIAA Basketball Tournament. Tournament brackets will be released on Sunday, February 22.
