The Saint Augustine's University Spring Invitational Tournament was played at The Valley Pine Country Club in Lasker, N.C., on Monday, March 7, 2022. The 2022 CIAA Spring Season tournaments are being played as a 36-holes single day format, where permissible and course conditions allow.

Valley Pine Country Club is a par 72, 6, 700-yard layout. The tournament was contested over 36-holes during a warm and very windy day with winds 10-15 mph and gusts up to 25 mph which made the pine tree lined golf course very challenging with unpredictable very high wind gusts during pre-shot routines.

VUU team scoring was led by sophomore Joseph Graham, who finished first and was the tournament medalist with a score of 145 (75/70), followed by senior Hayden Garcia, who tied for second with a score of 146 (73/73), followed by junior Zaccheus Spann, who finished third with a score of 151 (76/75), followed by senior Travon Willis, who tied for fourth with a score of 152 (76/76) and followed by senior Alkin Barkley, who finished sixth with a score of 158 (77/81).

In addition to winning the tournament, four of the five-member VUU Golf Team finished in the Top Five to receive honors as All-Tournament Team Medalist.

"This was a great beginning of our 2022 Spring Season with this win with the scores that we shot, said VUU Head Golf Coach E. Lee Coble.  "We have always had a goal of breaking 300, and during this competition our average score was below 300. I am very proud of the way the team responded to the very windy playing conditions. It was also great to see our number four player in the lineup win his first collegiate tournament. We will return to action at Elizabeth City State University March 14, 2022. The building continues."
