Virginia Union University Golf team competed in the 2026 Battle At Brunswick on March 12
th through March 14
th, 2026. The tournament was contested at the Brunswick Plantation & Golf Resort in Calabash, North Carolina. Brunswick Plantation Golf Course consisted of three-nine hole courses. Each team played a combination of three-nine hole courses each tournament round averaging 6, 800 yards, which provided a great challenge for each of the golfers.
There were sixteen teams competing in The 2026 Battle At Brunswick Golf  Tournament. VUU finished 11
th and the team scoring was led by Freshman Juan Solano finishing 46
th with a score of 234 (82/77/75) followed by Junior
Brady Wood finished 47
th with a score of 235 (81/76/78), followed by Freshman
Walker Johnson T-53 with a score of 237 (77/77/83), followed by Freshman
Antonio Garcia T-69 a score of 241 (84/80/77) and followed by Junior
Joseph Boone who finished 94
th with a score of 151 (76/75), which represents two tournament rounds.Â

"This was our season opener for the 2025-26 Season. This was a very competitive Golf Tournament and the VUU Golf Team responded well as we begin our rebuilding process," said VUU Head Golf Coach

Sean Bowers, and Grad Assistant,
Travon Willis the team responded and played very well in each competitive rounds. Our goal continues to be to break 300 and they responded with a team score of 931 (316/310/305) and a scoring average of 77.58. We are immensely proud of the way the guys persevered to the end. We continue to be immensely proud of the accomplishments of our VUU Golf Team on and off the golf course". We are now preparing for The CIAA Southern Division Tournament, March 22
nd and 23
rd, 2026 that's being hosted by Fayetteville State University in Sandford, North Carolina at The Golf Club at Quail Ridge."
