Ny Langley Named CIAA Player of the Week

Virginia Union University's Ny Langley has been named the CIAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the CIAA announced on Monday, December 19.

Langley was absolutely dominant in the Panthers' 68-60 win over Winston-Salem State, dropping 34 points (a career-high) and 16 rebounds in the lone game last week. The Greenville, SC, native went 11-of-24 from the field, 12-of-15 from the free throw line, and three steals. Langley recorded one of only three 30-point performances in the CIAA this season, and her 16 rebounds rank second-most in a single game in the CIAA this season so far.

"The CIAA is a very tough league full of competition so to receive player of the week is always an extreme honor," said VUU Head Women's Basketball Coach Tierra Terry.  "All of Ny's hard work over the summer and in the "off" days have helped her play at a high level consistently. We are very proud of her and her teammates who also help her excel on a daily basis. We are truly honored and grateful."

The Lady Panthers will face Livingstone College at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, December 19, in Salisbury, N.C.
