Virginia Union University's Ny Langley has been named the CIAA women's basketball Player of the Week, the CIAA announced on Tuesday, November 15.
Langley, a junior from Greenville, N.C., majoring in Criminal Justice, averaged an impressive double-double of 21 points and 16.5 rebounds in two games last weekend for the CIAA/PSAC Challenge. In the loss against East Stroudsburg, the Greenville, NC native totaled 22 points and 22 boards, while adding two steals and a block. In the win against Millersville, the junior finished with 20 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, and a steal while going 8-of-13 from the field.
"Ny was very focused this weekend on bringing her full potential to each game," said VUU Head Women's Basketball Coach
Tierra Terry. "She had an incredible 22 points and 22 rebounds in our first game of the season and followed up with a double double in the next game. Her passion really helped us pull together and get a great team victory over Millersville. I know she will continue working hard to receive this honor again. We are proud of her."
Virginia Union will play Edward Waters College at 6:00 p.m. on the first day of the VSU Conference Challenge on Friday, November 18, in Petersburg, Va.
