Virginia Union University's Terrell Leach and Jordan Peebles have been named to the BoxToRow Men's Basketball All-American Team, it was announced on Wednesday, March 26.
 
Leach, a senior guard from High Point, N.C., was named to the First Team while Peebles, a junior forward from Emporia, Va., was named to the Second Team.
 
One of the most prolific scorers in Division II this season, Leach was the CIAA's second-leading scorer at 23.2 points per game. The High Point, NC native shot over 40 percent from the field (10th in the CIAA) while ranking third in the league in three-point percentage at over 32 percent. An All-CIAA backcourt selection this season, Leach averaged over three three-point field goals a game, which was second-best in the CIAA, and had two of the five highest scoring games in the conference with 42 points against Saint Augustine's and 38 points versus Johnson C. Smith. The 6-0 guard also averaged 1.4 steals and 3.1 assists per game - numbers that ranked third and sixth in the conference, respectively.
 
Peebles led the Panthers with 227 rebounds for an average of 7.8 boards per game.  He was the second leading scorer on VUU's 2019-20 team with a scoring average of 12.2 points per game.  Peebles was also second on the team with 35 blocks.
 
"I'm very proud of Terrell and Jordan receiving All American Honors," said VUU Men's Head Basketball Coach Jay Butler.  "Terrell continued to show that he was one of the best college basketball players in the country this year. He has a great opportunity to play on the next level next year.  Jordan continues to get better each year and this award shows just how hard work pays off. We are excited about having Jordan back for his senior season next year."
