Virginia Union University has announced the signing of Ceanna "Cece" Kinney.  At 6-5, Kinney will become the tallest player in VUU women's basketball history.

"We are excited to add Cece to our 2021-2022 roster," said Virginia Union head women's basketball coach Tierra Terry.  "Her height, athleticism, basketball IQ, contagious positive energy, and love for the game will be a great addition to our team."

Kinney is a native of Medfield, Mass., and is out of Rivers High School.  She was named a Tri-Valley All-Star by the Boston Herald newspaper.

Kinney is also the granddaughter of Dr. John Kinney, who was senior vice president and dean of Virginia Union University's Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology for 27 years.
