The Virginia Union University's #1 women's doubles team of Sabrina Connor and Kyra Smylie garnered two wins, but Virginia State University defeated the Lady Panthers 9-0 in women's tennis action on Wednesday, March 28, at Battery Park in Richmond, Va.

The doubles team of Connor/Smylie lost their match 8-2 while the doubles team of Amirah Eckles and Zsakee Crocker lost 8-0.

Connor also collected two wins at #1 singles before losing 6-0, 6-2.  

Eckles also won a game, but lost the match 6-1, 6-0.

The loss drops VUU to 4-5 overall and 3-4 in CIAA play.

Virginia Union now hosts Salem University at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4, at Battery Park in Richmond, Va.
