Box Score Virginia Union University's Alexis Johnson scored 24 points and blocked three shots as the Lady Panthers downed Bowie State University 67-52 on Saturday, February 10, in Bowie, Md.

Johnson, the Lady Panthers' leading scorer, hit eight shots from the field, including two three-pointers, to lead VUU to its 22nd win of the year.

VUU's Rachael Pecota and Kishona Sutton led the Lady Panthers on the boards with nine rebounds apiece.

Pecota scored 18 points while Sutton added 10 points in the win.

The win also moved VUU into sole possession of first place in the Northern Division of the CIAA.  VUU's win, coupled with Chowan University's loss to Virginia State University, put the Lady's Panthers in first with a 6-1 divisional record.

VUU is now 22-2 overall and 12-1 in CIAA play.  Bowie State fell to 14-8 overall and 7-6 in the CIAA.

Virginia Union now returns home to face Lincoln (Pa.) University at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
