Alexis Johnson recorded a school-record eight blocks while the #4 Lady Panthers won a school-record 19th straight game as they defeated Elizabeth City State University 88-54 on Saturday, January 27, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
Johnson's eight blocks bested the record of seven blocks in a single game set by Shawanda Geter in 2007 and tied by Lady Walker (2016) and Johnson twice earlier this season.
The 19th consecutive win beat the record of 18 straight set by last season's team. The Lady Panthers have also won 10 straight CIAA games.
Johnson also led the Lady Panthers in scoring with 22 points and on the boards with nine rebounds.

Rejoice Spivey and
Rachael Pecota scored 12 points apiece while Spivey also dished out eight assists. Spivey has 145 assists through 20 games.
The win raised the Lady Panthers record to 19-1 overall and 10-0 in CIAA play. Elizabeth City State fell to 7-11 overall and 1-6 in the CIAA.
Virginia Union now travels to Orangeburg, S.C., to face Claflin University at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 31.
