Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Virginia Union University's Marisha Bates had four hits and drove in two runs, but Chowan swept the Lady Panthers 3-0 and 8-2 on Sunday, April 9, at the VUU Softball Field in Richmond, Va.

Bates had two doubles, driving in runs in the fifth and seventh innings.

In all, Bates had four of the Lady Panthers' seven hits in the second game of the double-header.

The losses dropped VUU to 6-13 overall on the season and 5-7 in CIAA play. Chowan is now 28-16 overall and 11-1 in the CIAA.

Virginia Union now travels to Bluefield, W.V., to face Bluefield State College on Wednesday, April 12.
