Karrina Gooding slammed three home runs in three straight at-bats and drove in 10 runs as the Lady Panthers defeated Lincoln (Pa.) University 25-3 to complete a sweep of the Lions on Saturday, April 1, at the VUU Softball Field in Richmond, Va.
The three home runs and 10 RBIs are the most in recent memory for a VUU softball player. Â The 25 runs are the most the Lady Panthers have scored in a single game since scoring 25 runs against Saint Augustine's University in 2010.

Shontel Linnette tossed a one-hitter against the Lions.  Linnette held Lincoln hitless until two out in the fifth and final inning.  Linnette struck out four and walked just one in five innings of work.
In the opener,
Daionna Wright slammed a grand slam home run in the fifth inning to give the Lady Panthers a 10-1 win.
VUU's
Jareece Sayles scattered four hits and struck out eight to keep Lincoln at bay offensively.
The sweep lifts VUU's record to 4-9. Â The Lady Panthers continue at home with a double-header match-up against Bowie State University at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, at the VUU Softball Field in Richmond, Va.
