Box Score Virginia Union University's Lady Walker scored 16 points to lead the Lady Panthers to an 85-38 win over Elizabeth City State University on Wednesday, February 15, in the final regular-season game of the 2016-17 season in Historic Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.

Walker was also honored for becoming only the second Lady Panther to score over 1,000 points and grab 1,000 rebounds in a career at VUU.

The school also honored seniors Jamika Ruffin, Ashley Smith and junior Karigan Awkward, all of whom were playing their last game on the storied Barco-Stevens Hall court.

Awkward, a junior, will forego her senior basketball season to attend Boston University's Medical School next year.

Virginia Union Head Women's Basketball Coach AnnMarie Gilbert was also honored for having reached her 200th career win earlier this season.

VUU's Alexis Johnson had a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds while teammate Brittany Jackson added 12 points in the win.

The 47-point win was the largest winning margin since the Lady Panthers defeated Saint Augustine's University by 49 points (102-53) on January 11, 2016.

The win raised Virginia Union's record to 22-2 overall and 13-2 in the CIAA.  Elizabeth City State fell to 5-16 overall and 3-11 in the CIAA.  

Virginia Union wraps up the regular season with a match-up with Chowan University which will determine the CIAA Northern Division Championship at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, in Murfreesboro, N.C.
