Johnson's 20 Points Lead Lady Panthers to 79-62 Win

Box Score Virginia Union University's Alexis Johnson came alive in the second half and led the Lady Panthers with 20 points as VUU defeated host Winston-Salem State University 79-62 on Thursday, December 14, in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Johnson hit 10 of 15 shots from the field to go with four blocks in the game.

VUU's Rachael Pecota scored 18 points while teammate Jayda Luckie scored a season-high 16 points.

Virginia Union's Jasmine Carter ruled the boards for the Lady Panthers, grabbing 11 rebounds in the win.

The win was the eighth straight for the Lady Panthers who now stand at 8-1 on the season and 1-0 in CIAA play.  Winston-Salem State fell to 4-5 overall and 0-1 in the CIAA.

The Lady Panthers now travel to Salisbury, N.C., to face Livingstone College at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 16.
