Box Score Virginia Union University's Rachael Pecota hit seven three-points en route to scoring a career-high 33 points to power the #2 ranked Lady Panthers to a 95-82 win over host Roberts Wesleyan College on the first day of the Redhawk Alumni Classic on Friday, November 17, in Rochester, N.Y.

Pecota also tied with teammate Alexis Johnson with team-high rebounding honors.  Both players had 11 rebounds apiece.

Pecota's 33 points were the most by a Lady Panther since Kiana Johnson's school-record of 49 points against West Liberty University on March 14, 2016.  Her seven three-pointers were the most by a Lady Panther since Kiana Johnson sank eight treys against Shaw University on February 27, 2016.

Johnson scored 22 points in the win while freshman teammate Shareka McNeill added 14 points.

The win also raised the Lady Panthers record to 3-1 on the season while Roberts Wesleyan sank to 1-2.

Virginia Union will now play Daemen College on the second day of the Redhawk Alumni Classic, to be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, in Rochester, N.Y.
