Box Score Virginia Union University's Rachael Pecota scored 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, but Edinboro University defeated the second-ranked Lady Panthers 89-79 on the opening day of the Millersville Conference Classic in Millersville, Pa., on Saturday, November 11.

Pecota went 9-for-18 from the floor, but the Lady Panthers hit only 5 of 22 three-pointers and 12 of 25 free throws in the game.

VUU's Shareka McNeill scored 17 points while teammate Rejoice Spivey added 13 points.

Virginia Union's Alexis Johnson added 12 points in the game.

The loss means VUU will open the season 0-1 for the first time since 2014-15.

VUU will meet host Millersville University at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 12 on the second day of the Millersville Conference Classic.  The game can be seen live online at vuusports.com.
