Box Score Virginia Union University's
Lady Walker and
Alexis Johnson each had a double-double as the Lady Panthers raced past Saint Augustine's University 101-48 on Monday, January 9, in Raleigh, N.C.
The win raised the third-ranked Lady Panthers to 13-0 overall and 4-0 in the CIAA.
Walker had 15 points and 12 rebounds while teammate Johnson had 15 points and 10 boards in the win.
"It was a great game," said VUU Head Coach
AnnMarie Gilbert. Â "We jumped out early and were led by Lady and Alexis. Â
Jayda Luckie also had 18 points and three rebounds.  It was just a great game."
Luckie's 18 points was the second consecutive game where she led the Lady Panthers in scoring.
VUU's Jasalyn Denkins had 12 points while
Rejoice Spivey had 10 points.
Saint Augustine's fell to 3-14 overall and 0-5 in the CIAA.
Virginia Union now returns home to face Livingstone College at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, in Historic Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
