The loss snapped a school-record 18-game season-opening winning streak and marked the first loss for the Lady Panthers in Barco-Stevens Hall since February 19, 2015, a span of 21 games.

The Lady Panthers fell to 18-1 overall on the season and 9-1 in the CIAA. Â The Lady Panthers and Chowan have identical 4-1 records in the CIAA's Northern Division.
Chowan is now 14-6 overall and 7-3 in the CIAA.
Virginia Union now hosts Johnson C. Smith University on Wednesday, February 1, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
