Box Score Virginia Union University's Brittany Jackson scored 30 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, but Chowan University upset the Lady Panthers 79-75 in Historic Barco-Stevens Hall on Saturday, January 28, in Richmond, Va.

The loss snapped a school-record 18-game season-opening winning streak and marked the first loss for the Lady Panthers in Barco-Stevens Hall since February 19, 2015, a span of 21 games.

Virginia Union's Lady Walker scored 18 points and had nine rebounds while teammate Jayda Luckie had 12 points.

VUU's Rejoice Spivey had eight assists in the game.

The Lady Panthers fell to 18-1 overall on the season and 9-1 in the CIAA.  The Lady Panthers and Chowan have identical 4-1 records in the CIAA's Northern Division.

Chowan is now 14-6 overall and 7-3 in the CIAA.

Virginia Union now hosts Johnson C. Smith University on Wednesday, February 1, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
