Virginia Union University's run in the CIAA Men's Tennis Tournament came to an abrupt end when Chowan University defeated VUU 5-0 on Friday, April 29, in Raleigh, N.C.

VUU lost three doubles matches, then Michael Smith lost at #3 singles 6-0, 6-0.

The match was concluded when Virginia Union's Fanata Marr lost 6-0, 6-0 at #6 singles.

The loss gives VUU a final 4-14 won-loss record.
