Virginia Union University's Shekinah Stewart had a single and Shaquandra Brown had a double, but those were the only hits VUU was able to muster as Chowan elminated the Lady Panthers from the CIAA Softball Championships 4-0 on Friday, April 29, in Raleigh, N.C.

Stewart's single came in the third inning while Brown's double came in the sixth inning, but the Lady Panther bats were unable to do any further damage to the Hawks' lead.

The loss means VUU finishes with a 16-16 record in 2016.
