Box Score Virginia Union University's Ashley Smith came off the bench to score 17 points and give the Lady Panthers a 66-63 win over Virginia State University on Saturday, February 6, in Petersburg, Va.

Smith hit seven of 12 shots as the Lady Panthers captured their 18th win on the season.

VUU's Kiana Johnson scored a team-high 20 points and teammate Taylor White recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Virginia Union's Lady Walker added 11 points in the game.

The win raised VUU's record to 18-2 overall and 10-2 in the CIAA.  The 10 CIAA wins are the most for a VUU women's program since the 2003-04 team won 14 conference games.

Virginia State fell to 9-12 overall and 4-7 in CIAA play.

Virginia Union now travels to Bowie, Md., to face Bowie State University at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10.
