Alexis Johnson had a career-high 16 points and 21 rebounds to lead the Lady Panthers to their fourth win in as many games 78-69 over Catawba College on Saturday, November 26, in Salisbury, N.C.
Johnson, in just 31 minutes of play, grabbed 14 defensive rebounds in the win.
VUU's
Lady Walker recorded her third double-double of the season with 17 points and 12 boards.
Virginia Union's
Jayda Luckie also tied for high-scoring honors with 17 points.
VUU'sÂ
Brittany Jackson and
Kishona Sutton each added 10 points apiece.
The Lady Panthers trailed at halftime 36-34, but Luckie tied the game with a layup 30 seconds into the third quarter, and the Lady Panthers never trailed again.
The win raised VUU's record to 4-0 while Catawba fell to 4-2 on the season.
The Lady Panthers now return home to face Shepherd University at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 28, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
