Kiana Johnson scored 30 points and dished off 10 assists as the Lady Panthers downed Chowan University 76-64 on Saturday, January 30, in Murfreesboro, N.C.
The win gave VUU its 15th win of the season and propelled the Lady Panthers into first place in the Northern Division of the CIAA.
Virginia Union's defense also wore down the Hawks, who scored just six points in the fourth quarter compared to VUU's 22 points.

Taylor White led the Lady Panthers on the boards with 14 rebounds.
The win raised Virginia Union's record to 15-2 on the season overall, the most wins for a VUU women's team since the 2003-04 team won 24 games.
The win also gave VUU a 4-1 divisional record and a 7-2 record in the CIAA. Â Chowan dropped to second in the Northern Division of the CIAA and 14-6 overall. Â The Hawks have a 3-1 divisional record and are 8-2 in the CIAA.
Virginia Union now embarks on a three-game road trip, with the Lady Panthers facing Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem, N.C., on Monday, February 1.
