Lady Panthers Get 15th Win

Box Score Virginia Union University's Breana Miller drove in two runs as the Lady Panthers defeated Elizabeth City State University 7-4 in softball on Friday, April 24, at the VUU Softball Field in Richmond, Va.

The win was the Lady Panthers' 15th of the season, equaling the mark of 15 wins VUU reached in 2013.  The Lady Panthers have four games remaining, all against Virginia State University.  If VUU wins out, the Lady Panthers will equal the all-time mark of 19 wins (set in 1988).

VUU opened the scoring twice in the third inning when Miller doubled in two runs.  The Lady Panthers scored twice more in the sixth when Ro'Shaila Williams doubled to left field and capped the scoring with two runs in the seventh on Taylor Hamilton's single.

The Lady Panthers are now 15-6 overall and 10-4 in the CIAA.

VUU wraps up the 2014 home season with a double-header against Virginia State University at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, at the VUU Softball Field in Richmond, Va.
