Virginia Union University's Ellie Parsons won two of her three matches at the CIAA Round-Up, held on March 21 & 22 at Battery Park in Richmond, Va.

Parsons won her opening match against Johnson C. Smith University 6-2, 6-1 and then beat her Winston-Salem State University opponent 6-3, 6-3.

Parsons lost her match against Livingstone College 6-1, 6-2.

Overall, the Lady Panthers went 0-3 in the Round-Up, losing to Johnson C. Smith 8-1, Livingstone College 5-4 and Winston-Salem State 8-1.

In VUU's match against Livingstone, Lynda Kaneza won her match 6-1, 6-3 while teammate Tyanna Johnson won her match by forfeit.

In doubles-action, VUU's team of Parsons and Logan Reid won their Livingstone match 8-3 while VUU picked up another doubles win by forfeit.

Virginia Union now travels to Raleigh, N.C., to face Shaw University on Thursday, March 26.
