Virginia Union University's Anthony Michael won his singles match 6-3, 6-1, but Chowan University defeated VUU 8-1 in men's tennis on Tuesday, March 17, at Battery Park in Richmond, Va.

VUU's Jarvis Redeau lost 6-0, 6-0 while teammate Michael Smith lost 6-1, 6-1.

Virginia Union's Kareem Burrows lost 6-0, 6-0 and Jon Hart lost his match by default.

In doubles action, the team of Michael and Redeaux lost their match 8-3 while the team of Burrows and Smith lost their match 8-0.

Chowan won the last doubles match by default.

Virginia Union now hosts the VUU Tennis Round-Up on March 21 and 22 at Battery Park in Richmond, Va.
