Freeman Scores 12 in Home Finale

Box Score Virginia Union University's Ashle Freeman, playing in her final game in Barco-Stevens Hall, scored 12 points, but Virginia State University defeated the Lady Panthers 67-57 on Thursday, February 19, in Richmond, Va.

Freeman, VUU's all-time leading scorer with 1,681 career points, hit five of 12 shots from the field while also collecting three assists.

VUU's Jasmin Dancy recorded her fifth double-double of the season by scoring 11 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.

Virginia Union's Lady Walker and Trylanda Jennings scored 11 points apiece.

The loss dropped VUU to 7-17 overall and 3-12 in the CIAA.  Virginia State is now 16-9 overall and 8-7 in CIAA play.

Virginia Union wraps up the 2014-15 regular season with a 1:00 p.m. game against Chowan University on Saturday, February 21, in Murfreesboro, N.C.
