Kiana Johnson scored 34 points, including 18 in the fourth quarter alone, to power the 20th-ranked Lady Panthers to an 82-72 win over Palm Beach Atlantic University on the second day of the Rollins Holiday Invitational Classic on Tuesday, December 15, in Winter Park, Fla.
Johnson's performance earned her Most Outstanding Player for the tournament.
VUU's
Lady Walker also earned All-Tournament Team honors by scoring 22 points and grabbing 20 rebounds in the game.
Johnson also dished out a game-high seven assists.
The win raised VUU's record to 7-0 on the season, marking the best start since the 1997-98 team started the season 16-0.
Palm Beach Atlantic fell to 3-6 on the season.
Virginia Union now returns to Barco-Stevens Hall to face Claflin University at 5:30 p.m. in Richmond, Va.
