Box Score Virginia Union University's Lady Walker scored 25 points and grabbed 20 rebounds to lead the Lady Panthers to a 96-88 overtime win over host Shepherd University in the opening round of the Shepherd Classic, held on Saturday, November 14, in Shepherdstown, W.V.

Walker hit 12 of 24 shots from the field while also blocking four shots.

VUU's Rahni Bell scored 24 points while teammate Kiana Johnson added 15 points and dished out 12 assists in the win.

The win marked the first time a VUU women's team has won its season opener since 2003.

VUU is now 1-0 while Shepherd is 0-1.  The Lady Panthers will meet the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown on Sunday, November 15, at 12:00 p.m. in Shepherdstorwn, W.V.
