Box Score Virginia Union University's Ashle Freeman scored 21 points, but Shaw University defeated the Lady Panthers 85-66 on Thursday, January 8, in Raleigh, N.C.

Freeman is now one point away from tying Barvenia Wooten-Cherry for second place among the all-time leading scorers in VUU women's basketball history.  Freeman is 31 points away from tying Marquietta Randolph for the all-time leader in VUU Lady Panther history.

VUU's Lady Walker added 20 points while grabbing 13 rebounds.

Virginia Union's Taylor White added 10 points while teammate ShaHadah Barrett dished off five assists.

The loss dropped VUU to 4-8 overall and 0-3 in CIAA play.  Shaw is now 9-7 overall and 2-2 in CIAA play.

The Lady Panthers now travel to Fayetteville, N.C., to face Fayetteville State University at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 10.
