Box Score Virginia Union University's Ashle Freeman led the Lady Panthers with 17 points, but Chowan defeated VUU 63-60 on Saturday, January 31, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.

Freeman hit three 3-pointers in the game while also recording three steals.

VUU's Trylanda Jennings scored a career-highn13 points in the win, marking the first time the junior from Richmond's Open High School has reached double-figures as a Lady Panther.

Virginia Union's Sydney Howard also scored 11 points in the game.  

VUU's ShaHadah Barrett recorded a team-high four steals and seven assists.

The loss dropped VUU to 6-13 overall and 2-8 in the CIAA.  Chowan is now 11-10 overall and 7-4 in CIAA play.

The Lady Panthers remain home as they meet Winston-Salem State University at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
