Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Virginia Union University's Shireese Borden scored three times, but Chowan University swept the Lady Panthers 14-2 and 12-1 in a softball double-header held on Sunday, April 6, in Murfreesboro, N.C.

Borden had two singles and scored twice in the opening game, and then scored again in the night-cap.

VUU's Shakia Mackey also had two hits in the first game and drove in a run.

In the second game, Borden scored without the benefit of a hit.  She walked in the first inning, then stole second.  Borden advanced to third on a wild pitch and then scored on a sacrifice fly by Mackey.

VUU's Shamanda Fambro had the Lady Panthers only hit in the second game, an infield single.

The losses drop VUU to 7-11 overall on the season and 7-7 in the CIAA.  Chowan is now 13-27 overall and 11-3 in CIAA play.

The Lady Panthers now travel to Lincoln University, Pa., to face the Lions of Lincoln University on Saturday, April 12.
