Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Virginia Union University's Shakia Mackey and Renesha Chiles slugged home runs while Quincy Lewis picked up a pair of wins as the Lady Panthers swept Bowie State University 3-2 and 4-3 in softball on Thursday, April 3, in Bowie, Md.

Mackey slammed a two-run homer while Chiles followed with a homer of her own in the third inning to account for all the runs the Lady Panthers would need in the first game.

Lewis struck out three over three innings of work.

In the night-cap, VUU's Tyana Daniels and Danielle McEachern drove in two runs apiece while Lewis picked up her second win of the day.

The wins raised Virginia Union's record to 5-9 on the season.

VUU now returns home to face Elizabeth City State University at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, at the VUU Softball Field in Richmond, Va.
