Virginia Union University's women's tennis team took on Chowan University on Monday, March 31, but the Hawks defeated the Lady Panthers 9-0 at Battery Park in Richmond, Va.

VUU's Kiara Miller lost 6-0, 6-1 while Ellie Parsons lost 6-3, 6-1.

Union's Katrina Joe lost 6-0, 6-0 and Deja Shabazz lost 6-1, 6-2.

VUU's Christionne Taylor lost 6-0, 6-0.

Chowan won the last singles match via forfeit while also winning all three doubles matches.

Virginia Union now faces Southern Virginia University on Wednesday, April 2, at Battery Park in Richmond, Va.
