Virginia Union University's women's tennis team fell to Virginia State University 9-0 on Sunday, March 23, at Battery Park in Richmond, Va.

VUU's Kiara Miller lost 6-2, 6-1 while teammate Ellie Parsons lost 6-1, 6-1.

Virginia Union's Katrina Joe lost 6-0, 6-1 and VUU's Deja Shabazze lost 6-0, 6-0.

VUU's Deja Shabazz had to withdraw from her match with VSU leading 5-0 in the first set when she suddenly experienced leg pain.'

VSU's last tennis player won by default.

Virginia Union also lost all three of the doubles match.

VUU now faces Chowan University on Monday, March 31, at 1:00 p.m. in Battery Park and Richmond.
