Anthony Michael Gets Lone Win for VUU Against VSU

Virginia Union University's Anthony Michael won his singles match against Virginia State University when his opponent retired from the match due to injury in VUU's men's tennis match against VSU on Sunday, March 23, at Battery Park in Richmond, Va.

Michael had won he firrst set 6-2 when his opponent (Matthew Bowh) retired from the match.

Michael, along with his doubles partner Jarvis Rideau, won their doubles-match 8-1 over VSU's Matthew Brown and Nicholas Brown.

Rideau lost his singles match 6-1, 6-1 while teammate Jaymes Berry lost 6-2, 6-0.

VUU's Charles Sheets lost 6-0, 6-0 and Union's Michael Smith lost 6-0, 6-0.

Virginia Union's Terrance Malone lost 7-5, 6-2.

VUU lost the other two doubles matches by 8-0 scores.

VUU now hosts Chowan University at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 31, at Battery Park in Richmond, Va.
