Freeman also moved into seventh place among the all-time leading scorers at Virginia Union. Â Freeman now has 1,182 points, moving past Katchona Johnson's 1,166. Â Paris McWhirter, who scored 1,219 points, is next on the list.
The loss dropped VUU to 6-14 overall and 3-9 in the CIAA. Â Virginia State, which is ranked 14th in the nation, moved to 19-1 overall and 10-1 in the CIAA.
Virginia Union now travels to Bowie, Md., to meet Bowie State University at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12.
