Box Score 2 Virignia Union University's Shamanda Fambro walked to open the fifth inning, then she stole second and eventually scored, but Seton Hill no-hit the Lady Panthers to take a 9-1 win over VUU on the first day of the Shaw Softball Challenge in Raleigh, N.C.
Fambro was moved to third by a ground-out by
Quincy Lewis, and then scored on a sacrifice by
Tyana Daniels.
Seton Hill scored six runs in the second inning, however, and added three more in the sixth inning to seal the win.
In the second game, Mansfield University pitcher held the Lady Panthers to one hit as the Mountaineers took a 12-0 win.
The losses dropped VUU to 0-2 on the season. Â
VUU continues play in the Shaw Softball Challenge as it meets Alderson Broaddus University, Barton College and Bowie State University on Sunday, February 23, in Raleigh, N.C.
