Box Score Virginia Union University's Ashle Freeman scored a game-high 25 points, but Elizabeth City State University defeated the Lady Panthers 56-52 on Wednesday, February 19, in Elizabeth City, N.C.

Freeman went 13-for-14 from the free throw line in the game.

VUU's Denesha Tatum pulled down a career-high 17 rebounds, the most for a Lady Panther in a single game since Katchona Johnson grabbed 18 rebounds against Saint Paul's College on January 12, 2008.

The loss dropped the Lady Panthers to 8-15 overall and 5-10 in the CIAA.  The loss also dropped VUU to fourth place in the Northern Division of the CIAA with one regular-season game left to play.

VUU wraps up the 2013-14 regular season when they face Chowan University at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
